Extreme Measure, the Standardbred racehorse hailing from the sire Largo (PE) boasts an impressive lineage as the offspring of Suddenly Susan - Artsplace. Throughout his illustrious racing career, Extreme Measure showcased his exceptional talent and speed, accumulating earnings totaling $109,462. One of his crowning achievements came when he achieved a lifetime mark of 1:55 at Scarborough Downs, solidifying his reputation as a formidable competitor on the track. Notably, Extreme Measure began his journey through the Atlantic Classic Yearling Sale in 2017, where he caught the eye of buyers with his potential and pedigree. Purchased for $6,000 under the Hip#81, he embarked on a journey that would see him leave an indelible mark on the harness racing world, thrilling fans with his electrifying performances and unwavering determination to succeed.

New Starts Standardbreds:
⭐️Horse Update: EXTREME MEASURE ⭐️

Extreme was found in a dealer pen this past January. Thank you to the kindness and Generosity of both Friends & Strangers alike, we were able to successfully bring Extreme back home to his old stomping grounds here in the maritimes 🥰

Extreme spent a lengthy time with his old Racing family, The Rennison's while he rehabilitated, got his feet straightened around and gained some weight. He became a barn favorite during his stay in the Rennison's stable, and became BFF's with ELECTRIC SYL ❤️

When the message popped up from Andrea, that Extreme was healed up and ready to find a home of his own, we shared his Adoption Ad throughout the maritimes Facebook pages, and very promptly received a message that Extreme was just what a family had been searching for, without knowing they were searching for him.

This family's Percheron had lost his mate 2 years ago, and the family was struggling to emotionally replace her, but knew immediately when they saw Extreme, that he was exactly what they needed for their boy Fire.

After a meet & greet with Extreme and the Rennison Stables, the paperwork was signed and Extreme made his way Home to NB where he spends his days in the company of his new brother Fire, his Mom, Dad and Skin Brother as well as Dog siblings ❤️

In the words of Jeff, his Adopter:

"When you lose a horse you don’t realize the hole it leaves in your heart ❤️. This happened to us and never thought adoption would be an option. Enter Extreme Measure , Christina ,Andrea and the Rennison stable . Extreme came to us on September 15 and has made our Percheron Fire be youthful again . Horses need companions with each other and humans . We will be there forever home til they go to an even better place !!❤️"

🐎 ADOPTION UPDATE 🐎

We are so pleased to announce that EXTREME MEASURE has been Adopted!!

Extreme will be joining his very own family in New Brunswick in just a couple short weeks!
His new Family consists of his new Mom, Dad, Skin brother & Horse Brother! ♥️

We are so very Happy for Extreme and cannot wait to see updates on this guy!

We want to thank Andrea, George & Ryder along with your barn family for not only stepping up for Extreme, but for offering him a soft landing to rehab and prep for his new home! You guys are exceptional people and we are so very thankful! ♥️ when Extreme turned up in a pen, you didn't hesitate to help ❤️‍🩹

Today Extreme met our nephews Bo and Cooper who told him he was gorgeous and definitely the cutest! They fed him hay and Extreme loved every minute! Extreme is now ready to find his forever home , he deserves a safe place to go be a horse and enjoy his days:) Thank you to New Starts Standardbreds for giving him this chance.

Our Maritime Kid, EXTREME MEASURE, is ready to find a Family of his Very Own!! ♥️♥️

Today, we attended New Start Standardbreds Fundraising Day at Truro Raceway , and it was a total Blast!!

Our day started out meeting the very Handsome and special, EXTREME MEASURE & all the other ponies, along with their human counterparts in the Rennison Racing Barn!

Upon arrival, we found Kathy Rogers had completely sold out of her beautiful plants before the races even began! I was lucky enough to snag a couple! Thank you Kathy for your generosity kindness & support!

The silent auction was in full swing courtesy of Truro Raceway & Steve Fitzsimmons, and was a great success!

We received some lovely donations, and sold some hats, shirts, (thank you All Star Cresting) Wink books (thank you Kevin Lakes) and a few Greeting cards featuring art from the Wink Books! (Thank you Marilyn Curry)

Thank-you to Charlene Cypher for making the trek from PEI , and ny husband Shane for being my partners in crime today!

To the Truro Raceway Barn Families, Staff, Clientelle, and to the adopters/supporters who made their way out to meet us and say hello, Thank you! Your support & Hospitality was top notch,.and it was truly the best day ever!

A very special thank you as well to George, Andrea & Ryder Rennison for getting Extreme Measure ready for his special meet & greet, as well as Representing the day as a whole with your very handsome Electric Syl Leading the post parade for the 8th race! I know your day was already hectic enough with your horses racing, but we cannot thank you enough for going above and beyond!

In total today, we raised $2,600 give or take a few dollars, which will come right back to our Maritimes Community Funds

It was incredible to have a race track reach out to SUPPORT New Start Standardbreds and we will be forever thankful! This is what it's about! Working along side the Industry we all know and Love, being the voice for these not only Athletes, but family members!

So very exciting!! He will be going to familiar faces Andrea & George Rennison( who promptly jumped to help! ) to be fostered while he gets back to his former beautiful self and ready for an adoptive home!

A quick update on Extreme Measure!

He has started his 30 day quarantine and is tucked safely into his own stall

Tomorrow the farrier will get his nasty road shoes off and give his feet some must deserved relief.

We were able to save on shipping to quarantine because he was able to stay where he is to complete the 30 days!

So to date, we have successfully raised:Bail Funds Quarantine Funds Vetting Funds (Vetting funds include coggins and health certificates to come Home!)

So we are moving on to the final leg of our journey, which is Shipping!

He will be picked up from quarantine and brought right home to the Maritimes.

We will get another fundraiser up and going soon! But for today, we celebrate his safety.. which we owe a huge thanks to each and every donor.. if you didn't donate, but you shared, you are as equally important!

UPDATE on Extreme Measure

We are going to bring this boy Home to the Maritimes where he was born and raised!

Andrea & George have offered him a placement to rehab and get back to his beautiful self when he first comes home, and then we will do our thing and adopt him out to a forever Home!

So first thing is first, we need to raise funds to get him moved to quarantine asap! Could be as soon as today or tomorrow!

Thanks to our amazing supporters, and Andrea's racing family, we raised all of his bail yesterday PLUS an additional $200 towards his shipping to quarantine

So today, we need to raise an additional 200.00 and that will cover his moving into quarantine
